My Top 10 Most Requested Wedding Ceremony Songs to play on Violin: 5 years on

Almost two years ago, I put together a list of my most requested songs for brides to walk down the aisle too. Since then, I've played at nearly 100 more weddings and have now been performing as a wedding violinist for nearly five years (2022–2026), so I thought it was time to update the list and see how wedding music trends have changed.

One thing that hasn't changed much is the influence of some of the biggest romantic movies and TV shows. It still seems like Crazy Rich Asians and Twilight are continuing to inspire couples when choosing their wedding ceremony songs, particularly songs like Can't Help Falling in Love and A Thousand Years. These two songs have remained incredibly popular choices to play during the bridal entrance.

5 New Songs Have Made the List

Five new songs have made my list for 2026. Interestingly, it doesn't seem like couples are necessarily choosing newer songs to be played on the violin. Instead, newer and increasingly popular violin covers of older songs may be partly responsible for some of these songs finding their way into wedding ceremonies.

I was particularly surprised that To Build a Home only came in at number 8. I think it deserves to rank much higher! It's a beautiful song that builds really naturally throughout the arrangement, with a fantastic entrance point when the chorus arrives. It's one of my favourite songs to play as a violin and piano duo.

It also makes sense that songs such as From This Moment and Enchanted have made the list. Both songs build beautifully from the beginning and crescendo during the chorus, which makes them particularly effective choices for a grand bridal entrance. As a wedding violinist, I find that songs with a strong build and a clear musical moment for the bride to enter tend to work especially well when walking down the aisle.

A Tip for Future Brides

To any future brides reading this: one of the things I would really encourage you to do on your wedding day is try to listen to the music as you walk down the aisle. I often speak to brides after their wedding who tell me that they were so caught up in the moment of walking down the aisle that they didn't even hear and enjoy the music!
